With the desire to bring closer to the people the services our public library, the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federatio (SKMF) headed by the Hon. Mark Ferven L. Avance partnered with the Municipal Library and Information Center under the Sangguniang Bayan of Midsayap together with the Municipal Social Welfare & Development Office (MSWDO) for the conduct of the “Ating Aklatan Para Sa Kabataan”, a book mobile activity for the youth and children in the barangays.

The most recent book mobile activity was held in Barangay Patindeguen last September 7, 2019 in line with the Patindeguen Kabataan Festival and Linggo ng Kabataan celebration.

“We brought to this book mobile activity different children’s books and stories, encyclopedia and reading materials on local history and culture for the children and the youth to read”, said Philline Cadungog, Municipal Librarian.

One significant part of the activity was the story telling session wherein children are invited to listen to a story.

Hon. Avance, said that it was a great feeling to share a moment with the children of Patindeguen through the story telling activity.

MSWDO’s Mobile Library was also present and provided the venue for children to watch educational videos and reading materials.

It can be remembered that the “Ating Aklatan Para Sa Kabataan” was launched last August 20, 2019 at the Municipal Plaza with the presence of Vice Mayor Manuel Rabara, DMD, SB Secretary Mila Bayog, Provincial Librarian Aurora Nebrija, and children from various pre-schools in Midsayap. The launching was a pre-event for the LIS Month celebration this September 2019.
